Main duties of the job

As demand for our services grows, we are expanding strategically, offering cutting-edge rehabilitation both in our state-of-the-art robotics Neuro Hub gym and within community settings. Our approach ensures comprehensive rehabilitation, empowering clients to achieve their maximum functional potential within the scope of their condition.

We are currently seeking a Therapy Assistant to join our vibrant and committed team. In this role, you will work alongside our highly skilled Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists, carrying out treatment as guided and directed, at our Neuro Hub and locations within the community, therefore the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

As a Therapy Assistant you will gain hands-on experience in neurological rehabilitation while working in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment. Additionally, this role offers the chance to enter a degree apprenticeship in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy after two years of service.

Job responsibilities

What you'll be working:

This role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

What you'll be doing:

  • To undertake treatment or part treatment of clients under the guidance of a qualified member of staff
  • To develop the ability to safely work unsupervised, using initiative and problem-solving skills whilst staying within agreed levels of competence.
  • To report back information and observations relevant to client treatment and maintain timely and accurate client records.
  • Be able to recognise own limitations and respect appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Seek advice and support as appropriate, actively participate in clinical supervision and on the job training.
  • Always behave in a professional manner, portraying a positive and empathetic approach to all clients and their families/carers.
  • Work alongside relevant healthcare professionals and other agencies, showing respect and consideration for varying points of view.
  • Abide by all agreed policies, protocols and standards relating to clinical practice.
  • Be aware of clinical risk during everyday practice and report any events, situations or acts which compromise the safe and appropriate care of patients or clients to the company.
  • Demonstrate appropriate skills and techniques to clients, families, and colleagues as directed by therapists.
  • Participate in clinical meetings, therapy planning meetings, audit meetings and similar activities.
  • Work collaboratively as a team member with colleagues recognising and respecting their contribution to the client’s overall care.
  • Act to support and assist the efficient operation of the team under the direction of a therapist including some administrative duties, supporting newly appointed staff and students.
  • Use supplies economically and efficiently and report any deficiencies or equipment faults.
  • Seek to develop new skills by participating in on-the-job training in service training and external courses identified and agreed as role development.
