Job responsibilities
Moorpark Place is a specialist service for up to 25 adults who are on the Autistic Spectrum and may have behaviours that challenge. Moorpark Place is truly special and unique, not just because of the setting, but because of the care that is provided to each resident. We support our residents to live the very best lives they can. Our community at Moorpark Place consists of 25 individual houses, where each resident has their own home set within the very large grounds. The site is part of Active Care Group’s LD and Social Care Clinical Network, comprising of over twenty sites nationally, where expertise is shared across the group within a group governance framework.
Each resident either has 1:1 staffing or 2:1 staffing dependent on their needs, who provide daily support with everyday tasks, community activities and increasing independent living skills, in addition to receiving further specialist support from our on-site Clinical Psychologist, Occupational Therapist and Speech and Language Therapist.
There is a communal gym with a gym instructor, conservatory, sunken trampoline and swing, plus a walled, sensory garden. There are regular community activities and residents are often seen socialising in the grounds.
Moorpark Place is calm and tranquil and has a huge grassed area outside, where residents often walk and many have reported they feel calmer afterwards. The walled garden is kept as a quiet, sensory area.
Every person at Moorpark Place is totally involved in developing their own care plans and in choosing the way they live their lives. Our ambition at Moorpark Place is to see each individual who enters our care become more confident and independent in their every day activities, allowing them to learn new skills which will enable them to lead the most rewarding of lives. The unique location and accommodation enables our residents to enjoy all aspects of individual living whilst being part of a community.
At Moorpark Place we place the individual at the heart of everything we do. We work with families, key stakeholders and of course residents from the start, so that we can design a personalised care plan that’s aligned with all their needs and preferences to unlock their potential.
We know that offering highly flexible, personalised support can make a difference not just to the person with the condition, but to their family and friends as well. By empowering people to live more independently in our care and to feel happy and safe, we are not only improving their quality of life, but those around them too.
