Main duties of the job

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to join our team across our 5 services within Northampton and Bedford: Lloyd House, Christchurch View, Wycliffe House and Abington View in Northampton and Park House in Bedford. The role will be working 4 days in Northampton and 1 day in Bedford.

Job responsibilities

We have over 30 years of specialist knowledge and experience in managing complex conditions including ventilation and respiratory, spinal injury, brain injury, epilepsy, neurological conditions and learning disabilities. With an innovative, user-centred approach, we help individuals progress towards a more independent future and to lead their best life.

What you'll be working:

We can beflexible butyou will work a total of 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

What you'll be doing:

  • Complete assessment and clinical formulation of patients problem behaviours and treatment needs
  • Provide evidence based individual and group treatment programmes to address or reduce the negative impact of difficulties
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of individual and group treatment programmes
  • Direct and support others to carryout evidence-based clinical psychology interventions
  • Take personal responsibility for ensuring that appropriate security procedures are adhered to at all times and that risks are continuously assessed and managed
  • Maintain CPD of an HCPC Registered Practitioner Clinical Psychologist and to ensure competence in relation to the administration and scoring to psychological assessments and risk assessments
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, visitors and carers

What you'll have:

The successful candidate will have a wide-ranging knowledge of specialist neuropsychological assessment and the treatment of adults presenting with complex, acquired neurological disorders, in particular those with cognitive, psychological and emotional, impairments which prevent them from achieving independent functioning in daily living. In addition you will have extensive experience in delivering individual therapy, and helping non-psychology team members work with people who have experienced an acquired brain injury, coupled with good team and leadership skills.
