Job summary

The Datix Administrator is responsible for the development and maintenance of system guidance and training of colleagues in the use of the system. The postholder will work closely with the Head of Governance and Compliance to have oversight of the quality of content of the Datix system and support services where this needs improvement.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities: - To act as the in-house expert for Active Care Groups electronic Risk Management System DATIX. Work with the Head of Governance and Compliance to design and deliver training across all staff groups: - Tailor training to the requirements of the group and adapt in recognition of varying levels of skill and confidence regarding the use of online tools - Coordinate and maintain a register of Datix Champions across ACG - Engage the audience and promote a culture of safety whereby staff feel empowered and comfortable raising concerns and reporting incidents - Production of supporting documentation - To engage with teams to develop a culture of safety, undertaken through the promotion of incident reporting and by encouraging and supporting learning from excellence. - The DATIX Administrator is responsible for the design and provision of information reports to the exec team as required. - To act as the primary contact to all staff with regard to incident reporting, DATIX and Datix Champions across ACG. - To ensure that the data collected via the system is relevant, reliable and accurate, facilitating the production and design of regular and ad- hoc reports.

The Quality team operates across Active Care Group to provide a shared central function to support the national operations of the Group.

What you'll be working:

  • Reporting to: Head of Governance and Compliance
  • Monday to Friday
  • Location: Remote
  • Pay rate: £30,000 per annum
  • Full time / Permanent - 37.5hrs per week

  • Support the planning and management of occasional events at venues within or outside the Organisation.  This may include engaging with clinical staff to maximise participation, ensuring the quality of presentations and posters, collating material and being available to deal with organisational matters on the day. 
  • Maintain and enhance own relevant professional and personal skills through participation in continuing education and clinical governance issues, e.g. attending conferences, local network meetings and relevant training sessions.

PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The post-holder is responsible for taking reasonable care with regard to himself/herself as well as for any colleagues, patients or visitors who might be affected by any act or failure to act by the post-holder in accordance with the Organisation policies on Health and Safety at Work.
  • To report any accident, untoward incident or loss relating to staff, patients or visitors according to Organisation policies.
  • To undertake in-service training relevant to the post.
  • Comply with Organisation Policies and Procedures. 

ORGANISATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To maintain the confidentiality of the Organisation in respect of patient and colleague information obtained at all times, and use such information only as authorised for specific purposes.  Report any concerns about the use of such information to the senior manager.

  • Specialist knowledge of the DATIX/DATIXWeb Risk Management System acquired through degree/equivalent qualification or experience.

Experience:

  • Experience of/as a systems administrator
  • Delivery of presentations/training

Skills and Abilities

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong administration skills, ability to use Microsoft Office software such as Microsoft word and Excel.
  • Ability to be able to manage conflicting priorities effectively.
  • Statistical analysis and report writing skills
  • Flexibility
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • You may also need to travel between ACG locations as required for the performance of your duties.
