We are looking for a LocumConsultant in General Internal Medicine / Neurology / Geriatric Medicine / Rehabilitation Medicine to join the team at the Blackheath Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre. This role is part time - three days a week, with an additional day available at the soon to be opened Chislehurst Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit.
Main duties of the job
The role is working three days per week with no on calls. It will be covering the Heathside Neuro-disability Unit (18 patients). There is support from a junior doctor in post. We are looking for candidates to commence 05.07.2023. Permanent position also available if candidates were interested in locum to perm. The Blackheath Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre has two dedicated units: the Thames Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit (21 beds), is an NHSE-funded Level 1C neuro-behavioural unit for patients with complex cognitive and/or behavioural rehabilitation needs; the Heathside Neuro-disability Unit (18 beds), is an NHSE-funded Level 2A unit for patients requiring complex physical neuro-rehabilitation. The site is part of the wider Active Care Group Neuro Network (consisting of 25+ sites) nationally and collaborates with local NHS services (such as The Lishman Unit, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust). We focus on the use of clinical expertise, innovation and technology to meet patients expectations of rehabilitation goals. There are two wards in our Blackheath site:Thames Brain Injury Rehabilitation UnitandHeathside Unit. Across the two wards we provide assessment, rehabilitation, support and care.
