Job summary

This is a temporary Maintenance Operative role at Avery Healthcare's Milton Court Care Home in Kents Hill, Milton Keynes. The focus will be on ensuring the building and grounds are well maintained, undertaking a variety of routine maintenance tasks, checks to services, and applying basic fixes to equipment and systems to ensure the facilities are fully functional.

Main duties of the job

As a Maintenance Operative, your responsibilities will include carrying out general maintenance tasks and basic repairs, supporting new residents to arrange their rooms, ensuring routine re-decoration is undertaken, advising on the supply and quality of items, and providing out of hours emergency service. You should have at least one year of experience in a general maintenance or handyperson role, hold a full driving license, and have knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling, Fire Safety, and COSHH assessments.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Maintenance Operativewillbetoensurethe building and grounds are wellmaintained, undertaking a variety of routine maintenance tasks, checks to services applying basic fixes to equipment and systemswhilstensuringfacilities are fully functional.

  • Supporting new residents to arrange their room as they wish.

  • Advisingon the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring thetimelyandappropriate orderingof replacement goods.
  • Providingout of hours emergency service,participatingin the on-call rota.
