Job summary

This role is for a Senior Care Assistant at Avery Healthcare's Avon Valley Care Home in Bristol. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and working alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive, and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff.

Main duties of the job

As a Senior Care Assistant, your focus will be to monitor the wellbeing of each resident, be involved in the person-centred care planning process, support residents with their medication requirements, and undertake staff supervisions. You will also act as a key point of contact for residents, their relatives, and health/social care professionals. To be successful, you must live Avery's values of caring, supportive, honest, respectful, and accountable, and have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care, 2 years' experience in a similar care environment, and excellent communication skills.

  • Monitoringthe wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any changeimpactingon care and care plans, ensuring that new needs aremet,and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
  • Beinginvolved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing,monitoring,and undertaking monthly evaluations.
  • Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
  • Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.
  • Actingas a key point for contact with residents, theirrelativesand visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are actedupon,and concerns or complaints are escalated.
