Job summary

This role as the National Head of Housekeeping at Avery Healthcare involves overseeing the Housekeeping and Laundry departments across the company's homes nationwide. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a consistent housekeeping and laundry strategy, working with suppliers to create standard practices, and supporting the teams at the individual homes.

Main duties of the job

The National Head of Housekeeping will be responsible for overseeing the Housekeeping & Laundry Department to ensure best practice and company policy & procedures are being adhered to. They will develop a consistent approach throughout the Avery Group, whilst improving baseline training & development for team members. Working with agreed suppliers, they will ensure the company has the best products for the best results. Other responsibilities include working with the Director of Resident Experience to develop and implement a housekeeping & laundry strategy, overseeing and supporting the laundry & housekeeping teams at the individual homes, and working with the compliance team to ensure internal audits are fit for purpose.

  • Working with the compliance team to ensure our internal audit is fit for purpose for housekeeping & laundry, following up with the homes on key action plans arising from the audit to drive compliance and adherence to health & safety requirements.
  • Supporting with the induction training for all new Head Housekeepers at home level
  • Being an ambassador of the Avery Group values and to reinforce and support the implementation of the behavioural change programme within all training delivered.
