Job summary

This is a temporary role as an Activities Driver at Avery Healthcare in Portsmouth Road. The role involves providing safe, timely and courteous transportation for residents to and from various activities, assisting them with any special needs during transportation, and providing miscellaneous pickup and delivery services as needed.

Main duties of the job

As an Activities Driver, your focus will be on providing safe, timely and courteous transportation for residents to and from various activities, while providing quality service. You will be responsible for assisting residents with any special needs during transportation, such as carrying packages, opening doors, and helping them onto and out of the vehicle. You will also be required to provide miscellaneous pickup and delivery services as needed. To be successful in this role, you must have a PCV license with Cat D1 and an acceptable driving record, as well as the ability to react calmly in emergencies and be considerate. You will also need to attend periodic Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) training as required.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as Activities Driver will be providing safe, timely and courteous transportation for residents to and from various activities while providing quality service.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Providing transportation services for residents.
  • Assisting residents with any special needs during transportation, such as carrying packages, opening doors, assisting residents onto and out of the vehicle, and assisting residents to the point of destination required.
  • Always focusing on driving; directs tasks and passenger interactions to onboard support staff while the vehicle is in motion.
  • Providing miscellaneous pickup and delivery services as needed.
