Job summary

This role as a Maintenance Operative at Avery Healthcare's Alice Court Care Home in Eastbourne offers the opportunity to contribute to the well-being of residents by ensuring the building and grounds are well-maintained. You will undertake a variety of routine tasks, checks, and basic repairs to keep the facilities fully functional.

Main duties of the job

As a Maintenance Operative, your focus will be to ensure the building and grounds are well maintained, undertaking a variety of routine maintenance tasks, checks to services, and applying basic fixes to equipment and systems. Other responsibilities include carrying out general maintenance and repairs, supporting new residents to arrange their rooms, undertaking routine re-decoration, and providing out-of-hours emergency support. The ideal candidate will have at least one year's experience in a similar role, hold a full driving license, and have knowledge of health and safety practices.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Advisingon the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring thetimelyandappropriate orderingof replacement goods.
  • Providingout of hours emergency service,participatingin the on-call rota.

  • Be able to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
