Job summary

This is a temporary role as a Maintenance Operative at Avery Healthcare's Brentwood location. The role involves maintaining the building and grounds, performing a variety of routine maintenance tasks, and ensuring the facilities are fully functional.

Main duties of the job

As a Maintenance Operative, your focus will be to ensure the building and grounds are well maintained, undertaking a variety of routine maintenance tasks, checks to services applying basic fixes to equipment and systems whilst ensuring facilities are fully functional. Other responsibilities include carrying out general maintenance tasks and basic repairs, supporting new residents to arrange their room, ensuring routine re-decoration, advising on supply and quality of items, and providing out of hours emergency service.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Carryingout all general maintenance tasks and basic repairs includingall electrical, plumbing joinery and building tasks both inside and outside the Home.
  • Supporting new residents to arrange their room as they wish.
  • Ensuringroutine re-decoration is undertaken asrequiredtomaintainthe standards in thehome.
  • Advisingon the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring thetimelyandappropriate orderingof replacement goods.
  • Providingout of hours emergency service,participatingin the on-call rota.

  • Have a minimum of one years experience in a general maintenance or handy person role and/or hold a professional qualification in a trade.
  • Hold a full driving licence.

  • Be able to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
