Main duties of the job

As a Kitchen Assistant, your focus will be on supporting the catering team in food preparation and maintaining a clean, safe environment for the production of meals and beverages. Other responsibilities include advising on supply and quality of items, responding to work instructions, and acting with respect and understanding towards residents.

Your focus as Kitchen Assistant is tosupport the catering function in food preparation and maintaining a clean environment for the safe production of beverages and meals, ensuring a high quality and comprehensive service is delivered to residents.

  • Understanding the principles of safe food handling, to ensure all food preparations undertaken in the kitchen is to the highest standards of hygiene.
  • Contributingfully to team working, responding positively tocolleagues,and actioning all reasonable work instructions promptly.
  • Advisingon the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring thetimelyandappropriate orderingof replacement goods.
  • Actingaccordingly towards residents and their visitors, respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident.
