This role as a Maintenance Operative at Avery Healthcare's care home in Kents Hill is a great opportunity to contribute to the well-being of the residents by ensuring the building and grounds are well maintained. Main duties of the job

As a Maintenance Operative, your primary responsibilities will be to undertake a variety of routine maintenance tasks, perform checks on services, and apply basic fixes to equipment and systems to ensure the building and grounds are well maintained. This will involve carrying out general maintenance, repairs, and supporting new residents to arrange their rooms. You will also need to advise on supply and quality of items, ensure timely ordering of replacement goods, and provide out-of-hours emergency support.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Maintenance Operativewillbetoensurethe building and grounds are wellmaintained, undertaking a variety of routine maintenance tasks, checks to services applying basic fixes to equipment and systemswhilstensuringfacilities are fully functional.

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

  • Carryingout all general maintenance tasks and basic repairs includingall electrical, plumbing joinery and building tasks both inside and outside the Home.
  • Supporting new residents to arrange their room as they wish.
  • Ensuringroutine re-decoration is undertaken asrequiredtomaintainthe standards in thehome.
  • Advisingon the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring thetimelyandappropriate orderingof replacement goods.
  • Providingout of hours emergency service,participatingin the on-call rota.

  • Have a minimum of one years experience in a general maintenance or handy person role and/or hold a professional qualification in a trade.
  • Hold a full driving licence.

  • Be able to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
