Job summary

Avery Healthcare is one of the UK's largest providers of luxury elderly care homes. They are now looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated individual to join their award-winning team as a General Manager.

Main duties of the job

As the General Manager, your focus will be to lead and inspire a team to deliver excellent person-centred quality care to residents in a safe, caring and stimulating environment, whilst meeting regulatory requirements, professional and statutory standards, and business performance targets. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality and person-centred care, being responsible for the ongoing recruitment, retention, and development of staff, acting as a focal point for contact with residents, their relatives, and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals, ensuring safe staffing levels, providing ongoing inspirational leadership and management to the staff team, and ensuring costs are well managed and maintained within budgetary controls.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Being responsible for the ongoing recruitment, retention, and development of staff within the Home.
  • Acting as a focal point for contact with residents, their relatives, and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in residents wellbeing.
  • Ensuring safe staffing levels are reviewed and maintained in accordance with both occupancy and dependency.
  • Providing on-going inspirational leadership and management to the staff team.
  • Ensuring costs are well managed and maintained within budgetary controls, by reviewing regularly and monitoring stock.

  • Have Leadership and Management Level 5 or equivalent.

  • Be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
