Main duties of the job

As a Care Assistant at Avery Healthcare, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to the residents, including undertaking nursing tasks, distributing medication, managing chronic medical conditions, and advising families and GPs of any changes in condition. You will also be responsible for the effective deployment and supervision of the care team, ensuring all tasks are completed and residents receive the required care. The ideal candidate should have a First Level qualification, current NMC registration, a minimum of 2 years' experience, and up to date knowledge of care, supported by relevant post-basic studies/qualifications.

Your focus as aRegistered Nursewill beto act as person in charge,standingin for the Manager asrequiredandobserveall instructions to act upon his/her behalfwhilst youensurehigh standardsof care toourresidents.

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

  • Undertakingnursing tasks including distribution of medication, dressings, catheterisation, tube feeding and management of chronic medical conditions.
  • Advisingfamilies of residents andGPsof any changes in condition, which gives rise to concern and keeps them informed and involved in choices for ongoing care.
  • Responsibilityfor the effective deployment and supervision of staff within the care team, ensuring all tasks are completed during the period of duty and residents receive required care.
  • Providing high standards of care by undertaking accurate assessment and planning.
