Job summary

Main duties of the job

As a Kitchen Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include supporting the catering function in food preparation, maintaining a clean environment for the safe production of beverages and meals, and ensuring a high-quality and comprehensive service is delivered to residents. You will also be required to understand the principles of safe food handling, contribute to effective teamwork, advise on supply and quality of items, and act respectfully towards residents and their visitors.

  • Understandingthe principles of safe food handling, to ensure all food preparations undertaken in the kitchen is to the highest standards of hygiene.
  • Contributingfully to team working, responding positively tocolleagues,and actioning all reasonable work instructions promptly.
  • Advisingon the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring thetimelyandappropriate orderingof replacement goods.
  • Actingaccordingly towards residents and their visitors, respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident.
