Job Title; Childrens Healthcare Assistant

Location; Penrith - in the home of the family we are supporting

Salary; 25K 26.5K (Full Time equivalent salary range)

Contract type;Full & Part time contracts or, Zero hour for those seeking a more flexible approach to working.

Range of hours available;This is a 24/7 case, with staff completing sessions from 8am to 8pm, then 8pm to 8am (these shifts are waking nights).

An exciting opportunity to work in the home of two young children has arisen within KEYFORT, a Brain and Nursing Specialist Care Company managing this bespoke package of care in the Penrith area.

Main duties of the job

Role Specifics; Providing specialist care to two young children in their own home. Both children have complex nursing needs and require caring, motivational and passionate healthcare assistants with a background or interest in nursing needs to help keep them safe and enable them to thrive in their home environment. Each child requires their own healthcare assistant, meaning you will always be working alongside another colleague on every shift.

You will be trained to use our reporting and documenting software technology via a Mobile Phone App, allowing you to document support provision clearly throughout the shift. Full training on all aspects of the case will be given with continued round the clock support by our team in KEYFORT and, our Paediatric Nurse and Clinical Nurse Educator.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Providing a range of person-centred care:this includes everything from personal care, administering medication and supporting with any associated clinical / nursing needs. It's about delivering whatever the children need to feel safe and comfortable in their home.
  • Emotional and behavioural support;provide guided support to ensure their physical, mental wellbeing and safety is at the forefront of everything you do.
  • Engage and be responsive;follow daily care plans and participate in any activities or interests.
  • Record keeping:using in-house mobile systems (Log my Care and Care Planner), to record daily care provision and updates.

About the role

Our team of Support Workers and Healthcare Assistants perform a vital role in ensuring that our service users are supported safely, in an effective and caring way that is responsive to their own individual needs.

You will be providing flexible support services to children with complex health needs in their own home, in the community with local activities as well as in school. You will be trained and supported by our team of nurses.

We are looking for Children Healthcare Assistants who have a caring and person centred approach and great communication skills. You must also have the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, be reliable and honest, with a respect for privacy and confidentiality.

Support Duties

Provide safe and person centered support to service user(s) as detailed in their individual Care Plan.

Undertake any other general or Service User specific duties/training as directed in order to meet the requirements of the role.
