Leading a team of Senior & Care
Assistants, this role will take responsibility for everything within the home.
You will ensure every individual has a person-centred care plan and lives the
life they choose, with dignity and respect. You will ensure the home has the
required staff to deliver safe care and all members of your team remain
compliant with company and industry regulations.

Main duties of the job
Main Duties
To support the Home Manager in the
day-to-day running of all aspects of the home including; the standards and
quality of care, recruitment and training issues, communication with the team,
the premises of Orchard Care Home and financial matters.
May be required to work within the dependency
worked hours, to cover for Senior annual leave.
To attend shift handover daily (Monday-
Friday), ensuring that governance is completed, and handovers are recorded effectively.
To recognise and assess individuals
needs, involving relevant professional agencies and relatives where needed, to
formulate personalised care plans for each individual.
To support and encourage the
development of Team members up to and including Senior Care Assistants, to
ensure that development needs are identified and development plans in place.
To provide the highest level of
personal care and attention to residents following individual care plans
carefully and ensuring all contact is kind, professional, positive and respectful.
Responsible for understanding and
complying with statutory and legal requirements relevant throughout the home,
including HACCP, COSHH, Health and Safety, all aspects of the Care Standards
Act, have a clear understanding of Infection Prevention and Control policies,
procedures and measures, to maintain a safe environment throughout the home.

Orchard Care Homes.
9. To maintain all legal
and statutory records, displayed records concerning the home; insurance
certificates, registration documents. Also maintain records of complaints, Service
User Guide and Statement of Purpose, financial, employees, training,
residents and maintenance, HR (to be contacted before undertaking any disciplinary). Responsible for investigating any complaints
compile reports and take any appropriate action if required. Liaise and co-operate with CQC inspectors
and inspections.
10. Follow residents
individual care plans, to administer medication to residents as prescribed,
accurately maintaining appropriate records for both. Responsible for ordering, checking in and
stock control of residents prescribed medication and maintaining systems to
ensure effective stock management of all products.
11. To be an active and
encouraging Manager, establish and maintain effective means of communication
and good relationships with residents, relatives, employees in the home along
with others externally such as professionals in the caring environment,
outside suppliers, agencies.
12. To deal with all
staffing requirements, responsible for the recruitment of suitable employees
for the team working in the home, effective inductions and CIS standards take
place, the training needs for all the team are identified and met. To carry out regular supervisions,
assessments, lead team meetings, ensuring Orchard Care Home is a friendly and
supportive caring environment.
13. Responsible for
organisation of staff including; arranging staff rotas, ensuring adequate
numbers of staff are employed and all shifts are covered, managing staff
holidays and sickness levels.
14. To be responsible for
controlling and monitoring the budget and expenditure of the home, preparing
monthly cash flow reports for the Senior Support Manager and accurately
recording all financial information.
15. To support residents
with their personal financial arrangements, maintaining confidentiality of
all information, and that any financial transaction is recorded and treated
with the utmost honesty.
16. Responsible for the
marketing, promotion and sales of the Home which includes; keeping an up to
date marketing strategy for the home, produce a marketing plan on a quarterly
basis and dealing with any enquiries.
17. To deal with all
prospective/potential residents for the home including; providing relevant
information and guided tours, assessing potential/new residents and
negotiating appropriate fees. Also to
welcome new residents, complete appropriate records and paperwork and ensure
adequate arrangements are made for every resident.
18. To complete robust Quality
Assurance Audits to measure the quality of the service, implement &
execute robust action plans
19. Responsible for driving &
completing the five-piece Managers toolkit ensuring that the Home maintains
full compliance with Legislative and Company requirements.
