Job summary

This role is for a Kitchen Assistant to join the team at Agincare Homes Holdings in Cheltenham. The successful candidate will support the chef in creating healthy and balanced meals, maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, and provide excellent communication and engagement with the residents.

Main duties of the job

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will support the chef to create healthy and balanced meals, ensuring a good understanding of various dietary requirements and allergens. You will maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen area, adhering to COSHH regulations and health and safety protocols. Additionally, you will work as a team player, with the ability to work independently when needed, and provide support, communication, and engagement to the residents.

What is required from you?

  • A minimum of 12 months on your right to work in the UK
  • Previous experience in a kitchen setting is desirable.
  • This position is working 24 hours per week, to include alternate weekends

A day in the life of a Kitchen Assistant

  • Support the chef to create healthy/balanced meals and snacks, and ensuring a good understanding of various dietary requirements and allergens
  • Ensure a high standard of cleanliness is maintained in the kitchen area, with good levels of hygiene particularly in line with COSHH regulations and health and safety protocols.
  • Work as a team player, but have the ability to lone work when needed, effectively managing your time.
  • Offer support, communication and engagement to the residents.

About You

You don't have to have worked in care before, a previous role in a different catering environment is great for someone willing to learn. We'd like you to have some prior knowledge of food safety and COSHH. You will be a caring, self-motivated and enthusiastic individual who is able to show empathy to the needs of others.
