Main duties of the job

As a Care Assistant, you will be responsible for providing compassionate and personalized care to the residents at Gorseway Nursing Home. Your duties will include supporting them with daily tasks such as personal care, medication management, meal preparation, and engaging them in social activities. You will work closely with the nursing team to ensure the well-being and independence of the residents. The role requires a minimum of 12 months' experience working in a care home setting and the flexibility to work a mix of day and night shifts, including alternative weekends.

A day in the life of a Care Assistant

  • Companionship - Providing support, companionship, communication and engagement
  • Personal care-supporting with a wash bath or shower and supporting the client with dressing and oral care.
  • Medication-Prompting, assisting or administering medications and creams.
  • Meals Supporting the client with healthy meals, snacks and beverages.
  • Domestic tasks- light cleaning tasks.
  • Mobility - Supporting the client to live as independently as possible with their mobility.
  • Social activities- Trips out, social engagements and activities within the home.
