They are now looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Assistant to join their busy finance department and help deliver accurate, efficient, and compliant payroll services.

Main duties of the job

As a Payroll Assistant, you will be responsible for processing your own payrolls from start to finish and supporting wider payroll projects. You will work closely with senior payroll colleagues and contribute to the smooth running of payroll operations, ensuring deadlines are met and data is accurate. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in payroll, accounts receivable, or sales ledger who's looking to grow their skills in a supportive and fast-paced environment.

Reporting directly to the Head of Payroll, youll be responsible for processing your own payrolls from start to finish and supporting wider payroll projects.Youll work closely with senior payroll colleagues and contribute to the smooth running of payroll operations, ensuring deadlines are met and data is accurate.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in payroll, accounts receivable, or sales ledger whos looking to grow their skills in a supportive and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-end payroll processing for assigned payrolls
  • Support project-based work with senior payroll colleagues
  • Assist with third-party reporting including Nest, HMRC, Court Orders, and Office of National Statistics
  • Respond to payroll queries with accuracy and professionalism
  • Provide key payroll data as needed
  • Help maintain and improve payroll processes and documentation

  • Experience in payroll, accounts receivable, or sales ledger
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence with IT systems
  • A flexible, can-do attitude and ability to adapt to changing demands
