Main duties of the job

As an Activities Coordinator, your responsibilities will include planning and coordinating a variety of activities, such as social events, outings, and recreational programs. You will be responsible for creating an engaging activities plan, liaising with external entertainers or businesses, and ensuring the residents are actively engaged and enjoying the activities. Additionally, you will provide support and companionship to the residents, promoting their independence and overall well-being through various activities.

What is required from you?

  • A minimum of 12 months on your right to work
  • This is an Activities Coordinator role at 13 hours per week working from 10.30am to 5pm which includes alternative weekends as the rota requires
  • Previous experience as an Activities Coordinator within a care home setting is required for this role along with competent computer literacy skills

A day in the life of an Activities Coordinator

  • Companionship- providing support, companionship, communication and engagement with residents
  • Creating activities- you will be in charge of designing an engaging activities plan both internally and with external resources.
  • Event planning our Activities Coordinators are involved with planning events such as summer BBQs or Christmas parties for our residents.
  • Resident interaction you will always be in conversation with residents to see which activities they want to do and bringing them to fruition.
  • External communications as an Activities Coordinator you will be speaking with external entertainers or businesses to organise visits from entertainers or arranging for visits to businesses for the residents.
  • Mobility - supporting the client to live as independently as possible with their mobility through activities such as Zumba or ballroom or even things like balloon tennis.
  • Social activities- trips out, social engagements and activities within the home for all abilities.
