Main duties of the job

As a Care Assistant, your responsibilities will include providing companionship and support, assisting with personal care tasks like bathing and dressing, administering or prompting medications, helping with meals and snacks, performing light cleaning duties, and supporting residents with their mobility and social activities. You will work closely with the care team to ensure the best possible care and quality of life for the residents.

What is required from you?

  • A minimum of 12 months on your right to work in the UK
  • Previous experience of working in a care home setting required
  • This is a Bank Care Assistant role to cover a mix of day, night, weekday and weekend shifts

A day in the life of a Care Assistant

  • Companionship - Providing support, companionship, communication and engagement
  • Personal care-supporting with a wash bath or shower and supporting the client with dressing and oral care.
  • Medication-Prompting, assisting or administering medications and creams.
  • Meals Supporting the client with healthy meals, snacks and beverages.
  • Domestic tasks- light cleaning tasks.
  • Mobility - Supporting the client to live as independently as possible with their mobility.
  • Social activities- Trips out, social engagements and activities within the home.
