Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join Agincare as a Senior Care Assistant at their Edgehill Care Home in Swindon. As an experienced care professional, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, person-centered care to the residents, while also leading your team and contributing to the overall operations of the home.

Main duties of the job

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will be responsible for delivering personal care to residents, including bathing, dressing, and oral care, while actively promoting their right to choice and independence. You will also contribute to and carry out care reviews, administer residents' medication, and lead and participate in social activities and trips. Additionally, you may be called upon to support new starters or existing staff with shadowing and development, and may be required to lead the home in the absence of more senior managers.

What is required from you?

  • A minimum of 12 months on your right to work in the UK
  • NVQ Level 2 - Health and Social care qualification
  • NVQ Level 3 - Health and Social Care qualification or be working towards
  • Senior Care Assistant working from 8am to 8pm to include working alternative weekends

A day in the life of a Senior Care Assistant

  • Person-centred care - You will ensure that residents receive personal care from you and your team including bathing, dressing and oral care within their preferences, and actively promote right to choice and independence
  • Review -You will contribute to and carry out care reviews with your residents to ensure their plans reflect their needs.
  • Medication - You will administer residents' medication in a safe and supportive and compliant way
  • Social Activity - You will lead in and participate in trips out, social engagements and activities within the home.
  • Leadership - you may support new starters or existing staff with shadowing and development, and may be called up on to lead the home where more senior managers are not available.
