Job summary

This job opportunity as a Support Worker with Enable in Sturminster Newton offers the chance to make a real difference in someone's life. The role involves providing 1:1 support to a young adult with complex needs, helping them live safely, happily, and as independently as possible. You'll be part of a small, dedicated team working to ensure the person's wellbeing, both at home and in the community.

Main duties of the job

As a Support Worker, you'll be responsible for supporting the person with all aspects of daily living, including personal care, dressing, and toileting. You'll also prepare safe, nutritious meals, provide reassurance and structure, monitor safety and wellbeing, and accurately record daily notes. The role requires a calm, patient, and observant approach, as well as the ability to build trust and follow detailed routines and care plans. Experience supporting people with learning disabilities is desirable, but full training will be provided.

Were looking for caring and reliable Support Workers to join a small, dedicated team supporting a young adult with complex needs in their own home.Youll be providing 1:1 support to help them live safely, happily, and with as much independence as possible, both at home and out in the community. We have both day and waking night shifts available.

About the person youll be supporting:

They are a friendly and sociable person who enjoys being around familiar people, sensory activities, going for walks, spending time outdoors, and exploring the local area.They thrive on routine and feel safest when supported by people who understand them well.Communication is non-verbal, using body language and sounds, so being observant and taking the time to get to know them is essential.They are happiest when life is predictable and when their support team work together to keep them safe, comfortable, and engaged.

Where youll be working:
  • Sturminster Newton
  • Day shifts - 3pm-10pm (Monday-Friday)
  • Waking night shifts - 10pm - 9.30am
  • Shift times can be adjusted based on applicant availability
