Job summary

The role of an Activities Coordinator is to plan and deliver engaging activities for residents in a care home setting. This involves designing an activities plan, organizing events, and interacting with residents to understand their interests and preferences. Main duties of the job

As an Activities Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing companionship, designing and implementing a range of activities, planning events, and communicating with residents and external parties. You will work to create a vibrant and stimulating environment that promotes the well-being and independence of the residents. The role requires a flexible approach, strong organizational skills, and a genuine interest in the needs and interests of the residents.

  • 30 hours per week over weekdays and weekends

A day in the life of an Activities Coordinator

  • Companionship- providing support, companionship, communication and engagement with residents
  • Creating activities- you will be in charge of designing an engaging activities plan both internally and with external resources.
  • Event planning our Activities Coordinators are involved with planning events such as summer BBQs or Christmas parties for our residents.
  • Resident interaction you will always be in conversation with residents to see which activities they want to do and bringing them to fruition.
  • External communications as an Activities Coordinator you will be speaking with external entertainers or businesses to organise visits from entertainers or arranging for visits to businesses for the residents.
  • Mobility - supporting the client to live as independently as possible with their mobility through activities such as Zumba or ballroom or even things like balloon tennis.
  • Social activities- trips out, social engagements and activities within the home for all abilities.
