As the Clinical Deputy Manager at Waterside Care Home, you will be responsible for leading a dedicated team to deliver exceptional, person-centred care to our residents, ensuring they feel valued, supported, and truly at home.

Main duties of the job

As the Clinical Deputy Manager, you will be responsible for leading the care team to ensure that the care delivered to our residents is safe, supportive, and person-centred. You will regularly review residents' needs to ensure they are met, and maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and equipment safety. You will also support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home, assuming full capacity in their absence. Your clinical competencies will include PEG feeds, tracheostomy, urinary catheter, blood sugar monitoring, and end-of-life care.

What is required from you?
  • A minimum of 12 months on your right to work in the UK
  • Prior experience of leading a team of care assistants and Registered Nurses
  • Registered nurse experience and an Active NMC pin
  • QCF level 3 diploma or above in Health and Social Care
  • Good knowledge of the CQC key lines of enquiry and other regulatory frameworks
  • Must be available to work 42 hours including alternate weekends
  • Working 2 on-floor shifts each week
A day in the life of a Clinical Deputy Manager

As Clinical Deputy Manager you will be responsible for leading the care team to ensure that the care delivered to our resident is safe, supportive and person-centred.

You will ensure that these needs are regularly reviewed to ensure they meet their current requirements, and ensurethe general standards of hygiene and cleanliness and equipment are maintained for their safety and wellbeing.

You will support to the Registered Manager in the day to day running of the home, assuming full capacity in their absence.

Clinical competencies of this this role are not limited to PEG feeds, tracheostomy, urinary catheter, blood sugar monitoring, EOL i.e. syringe driver, wound care.

A typical day could include:

  • Induction of new team members and the supervision and support to existing team members
  • The completion of care audits to ensure good practice and trigger reviews in care provision for residents as needs change. Your care plans would be person-centred, with focus on dignity and individuality
  • Liaising with family members, care professionals, social workers and the residents themselves to ensure a holistic and transparent care provision.
  • Monitor, report and investigate risks and events of safeguarding concern or harm and ensure processes are in place to mitigate and/or avoid these risks
  • Ensuring administrative records such as daily care notes, medication charts and meeting notes are up to date.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures.
  • Working with other members of the multidisciplinary team, including doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals.
