Main duties of the job
As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for encouraging the individuals you support to actively participate in their communities, fostering independence. You will also provide support with activities of daily living, including social activities, personal care, routines, meal planning and preparation, and budgeting. Effective communication using the individuals' preferred methods is crucial, as is engaging and motivating them to enhance their quality of life. You may also need to provide positive behavioral support approaches. Accurate record-keeping and reporting changes in health or circumstances to management are also part of the role. You will be working as part of a team, as well as using your own initiative.
