We have a wonderful opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our fantastic and friendly therapy team here at Strode Park House, working with a variety of complex neurological conditions.
At Strode Park House we provide for all our residents through assessment, rehabilitation, support and care, across our lovely 55-bed nursing home set in beautiful grounds.
Main duties of the job
Duties:
Evaluate patients physical, mental, and emotional capabilities to determine appropriate treatment plans
Develop and implement individualised treatment programs to help patients improve their ability to perform daily activities
Use therapeutic techniques and equipment to assist patients in regaining independence and improving their quality of life
Monitor and document patients progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors and nurses, to co-ordinate patient care
Educate patients and their families on techniques for managing their condition and maximising independence

Purpose of job
To provide Occupational Therapy Rehabilitation services for individuals so that they can achieve an appropriate level of independence, wellbeing and choice in line with their aspirations and abilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. To provide an appropriate Occupational Therapy service to all neuro rehabilitation service users within Strode Park House.
2. To work in line with, and seek to exceed, the prevailing standards of the professional guidance by the Health Professionals Council and The Royal College of Occupational Therapists.
3. To produce, develop and implement therapy plans.
4. To work effectively and efficiently as part of the multidisciplinary team, both internal and external.
5. To carry out manual handling tasks in line with SPFs guidelines.
6. Ensure all service users choices are at the centre of all activities in all work to set the highest standards and lead by example
7. To support and advise the care team so that they deliver the highest standard of care following the therapy plans.
8. To reflect on clinical practice both individually and with colleagues. Identifying strengths, needs and providing evidence of sound clinical judgements based on research and evidence based practice.
9. To maintain high standards regarding outcome measures and the quality of service from the therapy department.
10. To support the aims and objectives of the Foundation and play a full and active part in working so that at all times this post is providing the highest standard of care to people who use our services.
11. To fully participate in all supervision and assessment to ensure personal and professional development takes place to the highest standard.
