Job summary
We are looking for highly skilled Project Managers with strong values and behaviours to work with us on the UKHSA Change Programme, which is based in our People Group and sponsored by our Chief Executive. You will be working on high profile projects, collaborating across the agency and be responsible for leading the design and delivery of operating model and organisational change initiatives. Our programme directly supports UKHSA in its vision and mission.
There are three vacancies available, one permanent and two on a Fixed Term Contract with an end date on 29/03/2024.
Location
Main location is Canary Wharf, London. This vacancy can be worked from any UKHSA location.
The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) offers hybrid working - this means that whilst the role will be based in one of our offices, there will be opportunities for an element of working from home. UKHSA have office locations across the UK.
This role can be based at one of our UKHSA offices/locations (Leeds, Manchester, Totnes, London, Horsham, Cardiff, Bristol, Nottingham, Harlow, Liverpool, Fareham, Gloucester, Newcastle and Birmingham) with opportunities for an element of working from home. You will be asked to express a location preference during the application process.
*Please be aware that this role can only be worked from within the UK and not overseas. Relocation expenses are not available.*
Main duties of the job
The job holder will be required to carry out the following responsibilities, activities and duties:
- Lead or support the Programme Manager with the day to day running of projects, taking ownership and accountability for delivering agreed outcomes within time, cost and quality constraints.
- Develop and maintain project plans and determine appropriate delivery methodology. Setting project controls, managing performance and report progress to sponsors.
- Design the project structure and organisation appropriate to the stage, effectively managing the transition between phases.
- Develop and draft business cases.
- Lead development of the budget and track project spend.
- Identify skills requirements and deploy suitable resources.
- Deliver agreed business case benefits and outcomes. Monitor the longer-term delivery of benefits against the business case, ensuring an appropriate Benefits Realisation Strategy is in place.
- Identify key stakeholders, internal and external and effectively manage these relationships.
- Identify and monitor project risks and issues. Develop mitigating actions, escalating as appropriate. Identify and work with related projects to manage interdependencies.
- Support effective governance and decision making. Provide project reports, engaging in processes that hold you accountable for delivery.
