The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) offers hybrid working this means that whilst the role will be based in one of our offices, there will be opportunities for an element of working from home. UKHSA have office locations across the UK.

This role can be based at one of our UKHSA offices/locations (Leeds, Manchester, Totnes, London, Horsham, Cardiff, Bristol, Nottingham, Harlow, Liverpool, Fareham, Gloucester, Newcastle and Birmingham) with opportunities for an element of working from home. You will be asked to express a location preference during the application process.

The balance between home and workplace working is to be agreed with the line manager, determined primarily by business needs and in line with departmental policy.

STAGE 1 - APPLICATION & SIFT:

You will be required to complete an application form. This will be assessed in line with the advertised essential criteria please do provide evidence of how you meet this.

Your Statement of Suitability (max 1250 words) should outline your skills, experience, and achievements, providing evidence of your suitability for the role, with reference to the essential criteria (outlined in the person specification section).

Please ensure that your Statement of Suitability contains no personal identifiers e.g. name in either the file name or content of the document.**

You will also be asked to provide information within the Employer/Activity history section of the application form. This is equivalent to the information you would provide on a CV, setting out your career history.

If you are successful at this stage, you will progress to an interview.

STAGE 2 INTERVIEW

This competition will involve a face-to-face interview at our office in Canary Wharf.

As part of the process, candidates will be invited to interview which will involve an in-depth discussion of your previous experience and professional competence using the Success Profiles framework.

The Behaviours tested during the interview stage will be:

The Strengths tested will be: Challenger, Visionary, Problem Solver.

Candidates will also be asked to participate in a session where they will be required to prepare and deliver a 5-minute presentation to the panel. This will be followed by a question-and-answer segment. The presentation will be designed to assess each candidates experience in line with the requirements of the role. Education and qualifications

Essential

• Leadership Development: Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering leadership development strategy and interventions. Track record of weaving leadership development into everything we do from career paths to organisation design and how we improve our ways of working.
• Change Management: Strong expertise in change management principles and practices, with a successful history of leading and embedding significant organisational changes. Ability to guide teams through change programmes, fostering collaboration and resilience.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally. Experience in shaping and aligning initiatives to strategic goals, fostering buy-in and participation across diverse teams.
• Organisation Design: Comprehensive understanding of organisation design concepts and methodologies, with hands-on experience in leading organisational design programmes and enhancing overall efficiency.
• Culture Transformation: Experience of driving cultural change and cultivating environments of continuous improvement. Ability to instil a culture that encourages innovation, collaboration, and adaptability.
• Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration: Experience working across diverse functional areas, such as finance, operations, and technology, to drive holistic organisational change and improvement.
• Project Management: Proficiency in project management methodologies and practices, with a proven ability to lead complex projects from inception to successful completion. A track record of effectively managing resources, timelines, and deliverables while maintaining a keen focus on strategic goals.

Desirable

• Public Health Knowledge: Familiarity with the healthcare or public health sector, including an understanding of its unique challenges and opportunities, would be advantageous.
