Job summary
At the United Kingdom Health Security Agency (UKHSA) our mission is to provide health security for the nation by protecting from infectious disease and external hazards. We are a trusted source of advice to government and to the public, focusing on reducing inequalities in the way different communities experience and are impacted by infectious disease, environmental hazards, and other threats to health.
Reporting to the Deputy Director of People Strategy, the Head of Leadership and Organisational Effectiveness will drive forward our 'Leaders who Excel' objective to ensure our leaders are informed and engaged in our business priorities and feel confident to empower their teams to deliver. You will also lead on the organisation design and change agenda, including the design and implementation of initiatives and programmes which drive change, elevate performance, and foster a culture of continuous improvement, making a lasting impact on our mission.
This role is being offered on a full-time basis.
Pay scales based on location:
- National £62,489 - £71,893
- Outer London £62,498 - £75,411
- Inner London £66,291 - £75,411
Inner London (within the boundary of the M25)
Outer London (within a further 40-mile radius outside of the M25)
National (outside of the Inner and Outer London pay zones)
Main duties of the job
The job holder will be required to carry out the following responsibilities, activities and duties:
- Shaping and driving UKHSA's leadership strategy and approach. Crafting cutting edge improvement plans and creating exciting career development opportunities which empower leaders at all levels with the skills needed to navigate complex challenges and inspire their teams.
- Develop and lead the change model and organisational effectiveness roadmap for UKHSA
- Drive our organisation design programme, working across UKHSA with teams needing to undergo Org-Change in a consultancy like fashion. Tailor structures and roles to facilitate growth, creating opportunities for aspiring employees to thrive.
- Offer professional and specialised guidance to UKHSA and the People Group, becoming a trusted authority on organisation design, change strategies, and leadership. Offer insights into effective leadership practices, coaching approaches, and development opportunities.
- Cultivate a culture across UKHSA of perpetual advancement, empowering teams to achieve their best.
- Setting the short, medium, and long-term outcomes/activities for the team, that have a clear line of sight to People strategy, UKHSA Strategy and our Transformation Programmes.
