New entrants to the Civil Service are expected to start on the minimum of the pay band.

The internal roles rules apply to existing Civil Servants, i.e. level transfers move on current salary or the pay range minimum, transfers on promotion move to new pay range minimum or receive 10% increase. Either case is determined by whichever is the highest.

Main duties of the job

This role will coordinate infrastructure deliveries across the Workplace platforms team, which manages and supports identity and access management, end user devices, their operating systems and applications, plus the communication and collaboration tools used across UKHSA.

The role will achieve this by managing Kanban boards and work allocation, monitoring resource allocation and workloads, running weekly/daily task allocation/management meetings. Tracking interactions with other work and other teams, as well as supporting the team to help fix any infrastructure and service impediments.

This role is the escalation point for the team on configuration and delivery issues and will help the team to define their needs/requests and will improve the way we interact with colleagues in ITSM, Business Partnering and Infrastructure teams.

Job responsibilities

  • Identify demand for new services and requirements

  • Provide administrative support for specialist systems, including supporting the delivery of system specification documentation and the production of relevant procedures and protocols
