Job summary

The corporate Clinical Quality and Governance team is responsible for the development and implementation of UKHSA policy and strategy to continuously improve, govern and assure the quality of its clinical and public health services.

The Quality Improvement Manager supports Groups and Directorates as necessary to translate the concept of clinical and public health quality for their services and functions and to implement standards and audit and other relevant quality improvement methods.

Location

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) offers hybrid working - this means that whilst the role will be based in one of our offices, there will be opportunities for an element of working from home. UKHSA have office locations across the UK.

This role can be based at one of our UKHSA offices/locations (Leeds, Manchester, Totnes, London, Horsham, Cardiff, Bristol, Nottingham, Harlow, Liverpool, Fareham, Gloucester, Newcastle and Birmingham) with opportunities for an element of working from home. You will be asked to express a location preference during the application process. The balance between home and workplace working is to be agreed with the line manager, determined primarily by business needs and in line with departmental policy.

Main duties of the job

Responsibilities section:

As the Quality Improvement Manager your main responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating the development and reporting of a national programme of clinical audit, contributing to the implementation of UKHSA's clinical quality and governance strategy
  • Supporting the development of a network of Group and Directorate clinical audit leads to coordinate a programme of training and sharing of best practice in clinical audit and other quality improvement methodologies
  • Delivering routine communications with Senior Leadership Teams and Clinical Quality and Governance leads, and answering queries about the corporate clinical quality and governance development programme, to signpost best practice in quality improvement methodologies and to promote cross-organisational learning - engaging for example via a monthly Blog, on an ongoing basis via the maintenance of SharePoint as the go-to repository for tools and resources, and through the daily monitoring and response to queries via the 'Quality' inbox.
  • Supporting the coordination and delivery of an ongoing educational and learning programme.
