Job summary

HPZone is the incumbent system currently being used by UKHSA as the case management tool of choice in supporting the assessment, management and control of communicable disease cases and incidents across England.

Our ideal candidate is proactive and comfortable working in a challenging and ever-changing environment. This role offers the opportunity to take a lead on initiatives to improve the CIMS Programme data and management information on a continual basis.

This role is being offered on a full-time basis. This is a Fixed Term Contract with an end date on 31/03/2024.

Location

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) offers hybrid working - this means that whilst the role will be based in one of our offices, there will be opportunities for an element of working from home. UKHSA have office locations across the UK.

The main location is Leeds, but this role can be based at one of our UKHSA offices/locations (Leeds, Manchester, Totnes, London, Horsham, Cardiff, Bristol, Nottingham, Harlow, Liverpool, Fareham, Gloucester, Newcastle and Birmingham) with opportunities for an element of working from home. You will be asked to express a location preference during the application process.

Travel within the geographical area of responsibility and travel elsewhere/nationally as and when required by the post.

Main duties of the job

The job holder will be required to carry out the following responsibilities, activities and duties:

  • Improving the operational management information within the team and working to ensure the wider team understand how it is to be used.
  • Acting as the reporting contact for the CIMS programme and working with fellow CIMS colleagues internally to share best practice and reach alignment in delivery of new initiatives.
  • Pro-actively looking at data and MI and providing recommendations that will improve operations, including implementation of these improvements.
  • To provide support within the programme team to ensure rapid solutions are provided to end user problems.
  • Working with process improvement colleagues to ensure initiatives are aligned.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to improve MI, to support with KPIs and operational efficiency/decision making.
  • Use appropriate tools to contribute to the development of reporting solutions.
  • Running tactical reporting.
  • Assist in the provision of advice on technical aspects of programme requirements into system development and integration, including requests for changes and deviations from specifications.
  • Understand and apply relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices.
