An Obstetrician and Gynaecologist provides inpatient services, outpatient gynaecology clinics, and procedural services, including colposcopy, which is a core component of the national cervical cancer prevention and screening programme.
Main duties of the job
- Clinical - be responsible for the assessment and lead the clinical management of all patients admitted to the Obstetrics Ward, including the conduct of daily ward rounds, emergency care, and participation in the on-call rota, ensuring safe, timely, and evidence-based care.
- Administrative - Participate in departmental and hospital management meetings. Provide supervision and performance feedback to midwives.
- Advisory - The Obstetrician and Gynaecologist will provide strategic, clinical, and advisory leadership in strengthening Maternal, Newborn, and Womens Health services across primary and secondary care.
