Job summary
Jersey Maternity Services operate within a
small island setting, offering a distinctive and rewarding governance
environment. The Governance Midwife works across the maternity pathway supporting services that provide antenatal intrapartum postnatal neonatal bereavement and screening care to island families.
This role offers the opportunity to have a visible, hands on impact on quality
and safety. The scale of the service allows close engagement with frontline
teams rapid implementation of change, and strong multidisciplinary
collaboration. You will be central to ensuring that governance systems are
proportionate effective and responsive while aligned with Government of Jersey requirements national standards and UK best practice.
This is a role where your expertise leadership and commitment to safety will directly influence outcomes for women
and babies and where learning and improvement are genuinely embedded into
everyday practice.
Main duties of the job
The Governance
Midwife provides expert professional leadership across Jersey Maternity Services, ensuring
robust clinical governance risk management and continuous quality improvement
within a unique island healthcare system. Working closely with the Care Group Quality and Safety Governance
Manager the post holder will play a central role in supporting the
delivery of safe effective and compassionate care for women babies and
families.
As Governance Midwife you will work within a
close knit multidisciplinary maternity team collaborating with midwives obstetricians neonatologists bereavement services screening teams and
corporate governance colleagues. The relationships you build will be
fundamental to embedding a positive safety culture strengthening learning from
incidents and ensuring governance processes translate into meaningful
improvements in care.
