Main duties of the job
About the role:
Youll work alongside a clinical psychologist and assistant psychologist on the working age ward as part of a small but active inpatient psychology team. Youll take a lead role in delivering psychological input across the inpatient pathway, supporting people through admission, treatment and discharge.
Youll also:
- Deliver assessments, psychological formulations, and evidence-based interventions
- Lead on formulation meetings and MDT care planning
- Run reflective practice groups for inpatient staff
- Provide consultation and supervision to other professionals
- Work closely with community teams to support continuity of care
- Contribute to service development and quality improvement
Youll need to have:
- A recognised qualification and HCPC/BABCP/UKCP registration
- Experience working in adult or older adult mental health
- Skills in psychological formulation, trauma-informed care, and managing risk
- Experience delivering reflective practice and psychologically-informed staff support
- Confidence working across professional boundaries and services

The post holder will be part of a primary care psychological therapy major incident support
pathway, providing initial assessment and high intensity interventions such as Trauma Focused
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to clients who have a variety of psychological difficulties of
(medium) moderate to severe complexity including co-morbid and trauma presentations, as a
response to major incidents. Interventions are evidence based treatments for a wide range of
psychological conditions to improve the mental health and well-being of those affected by major
incidents.

- framework.
- Experience of providing evidence based psychological therapies for at least five years post qualification.
- Experience of providing/receiving clinical supervision.
- Experience of providing a leadership role within teams.

- British Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) Level 2 accredited postgraduate diploma in cognitive behavioral therapy, which has a curriculum based on guidance by the national IAPT programme
- And/or professional qualification in core mental health eligible for
- registration with HCPC plus Post graduate qualification training in a
- therapy which may be CBT or another evidence based therapy.
- Additional advanced training in CBT and/or other modalities eg: DBT,
- ACT, EMDR, CAT, IPT or other relevant therapeutic interventions including supervision.
- Receiving Clinical supervision experience in the above.
