Options include:

  • A dedicated breast radiology role with no on-call requirement
  • A general radiology role with a breast imaging component, including participation in the on-call rota

Breast Imaging Service

  • Delivered by two consultant radiologists
  • Currently offering 67 symptomatic sessions per week
  • This post is expected to contribute at least 3 symptomatic sessions
  • The team works in close collaboration with Mr Matt Stephenson, our on-island breast surgeon, who provides both mastectomy and full breast reconstruction

Facilities

The breast unit is located separately from the main radiology department and includes:

  • A dedicated reporting room
  • A fully equipped ultrasound and diagnostic suite
  • A recently installed GE mammography unit with digital tomosynthesis
  • Vacuum-assisted biopsy capability

Breast Imaging Requirements and Subspecialty Opportunities

We are specifically seeking a radiologist with proven skills in both symptomatic and screening breast imaging. This post is vital to maintaining a high-quality breast service for the island and provides excellent scope for professional development.
