Job summary

This is a unique opportunity to join the Private Patient Team at a pivotal time, driving the development and growth of private healthcare services within the hospital. As a key member of our growing commercial function, youll work across specialties and care groups to implement ourPrivate Patients Services Strategymaximising income generation to strengthen the long-term sustainability of public healthcare services. By expanding and optimising private patient pathways, you will directly contribute to reinvesting funds into essential public health services, ensuring high-quality care for all.

Youll have the opportunity to work closely with a leading commercial director and an established team of professionals, gaining exposure to high-level strategic decision-making and operational excellence. You will focus on improving the experience for our private patients and cultivating the Jersey Private Patients brand as the provider of choice.

Main duties of the job

Highlights of this role include:

  • Champion private patient services within HCJ, building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Support care groups with delivery to achieve and exceed budgetary income targets
  • Monitor compliance with governance and reporting on service delivery
  • Line management for the Patient Finance Team and Business Support Officer
  • Lead the introduction of new services and processes in relation to private activity
  • Regular review and update of the private patient tariff
  • Implement marketing and communications activities

  • Degree level qualification in Health and Care related subject or equivalent.

Desirable

  • Management qualification, or prepared to work towards, in order to evidence business acumen.

Experience

Essential

  • - Working knowledge of project management methodologies, stakeholder engagement and data analysis Working knowledge of health and care service delivery issues.
  • - Strong evidence of patient activity demand and capacity planning in order to inform service development.
  • - Ability to interpret the relevant clinical and professional standards legislation/requirements within the health care.
  • - Strong analytical skills to understand complex data or situations, select the appropriate approach to resolve the problem.
  • - Demonstrable skills using such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
  • - Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate employees through
  • change whilst delivering service objectives in line with the overall vision.
