Job summary
Are you looking to develop and progress a career in trauma and orthopaedics? Join the well-integrated Orthopaedics team at Nobles Hospital on the Isle of Man and gain hands-on experience you wont find anywhere else. As an Orthopaedics Clinical Fellow, you will work within one of four consultant-led teams and be actively involved in the management of elective and trauma orthopaedic patients. Your role will include ward work, attendance at orthopaedic and trauma clinics, and participation in elective and trauma theatre lists, offering excellent exposure to routine care and the development of core orthopaedic surgical skills.
Main duties of the job
You will take part in a 1 in 5 on-call rota with strong senior support. Although this is not a Deanery-approved training post, learning is central to the service, with wide-ranging experience in both routine and complex trauma. As the road racing capital of the world, the Isle of Man hosts the TT Races and Manx Grand Prix, providing a unique opportunity to manage high-velocity complex injuries from racers and visitors alike. The Orthopaedic service includes two mixed-sex wards with 31 beds, a dedicated Orthopaedic and Fracture Clinic with physiotherapy and plaster room facilities, and excellent radiology support. If you are seeking strong clinical exposure in a supportive, close-knit team within a unique setting, we would welcome your application.
