Job summary

Could you bring compassionate, evidencebased counselling support to people across the Island when they need it most? The Community Wellbeing Service are looking for a caring and skilled individual to join their team as a Band 7 Counsellor.

Main duties of the job

In this role, you will provide an Island-wide counselling service to individuals sixteen years and over. You will be responsible for managing a dedicated caseload, including assessing, planning and delivering short term evidence-based therapeutic interventions for individuals experiencing mild to moderate mental health problems. Qualifications

Essential

  • Recognised professional counselling qualification to diploma level or equivalent
  • Registered Mental Nurse on NMC register and/or other substantial training and/or experience in Mental Health field
  • Current accreditation with recognised counselling body e.g. Manx Association of Counselling (MAC)

Experience

  • Experience in field of Mental Health and counselling
  • Further substantial training and/or comparable short courses and significant experience in providing clinical supervision to other professionals
