Job summary

Are you a dedicated and knowledgeable nurse ready to support individuals on their recovery journey? Were looking for a passionate Substance Misuse Nurse to join the Drug and Alcohol Team (DAT) at Manx Care. Youll take the lead in delivering vital health interventions, including implementing patient health screenings and coordinating a Hepatitis B vaccination programme. Youll also play a key role in developing and delivering the alcohol treatment pathway, providing hands-on support to individuals undergoing detox and maintenance programmes.

Main duties of the job

In addition to clinical responsibilities, youll act as the Naloxone Champion - ensuring high-quality training and education is rolled out across the wider Integrated Mental Health Services. This is a unique opportunity to join a specialist team making a real difference in the lives of those affected by substance misuse.   • RGN with post qualification experience in substance misuse with a qualification or statement of competence in substance misuse, or a demonstrable level of skill related to the role e.g. infection control or Hepatitis treatment
  • V300 prescribing qualification or willingness to undertake same within 2 years
  • Study to Degree/diploma level or an undertaking to complete a Degree in the Health and Social Care field or related to substance misuse
  • Possess Masters level skills/competency and thinking and ability to study to Masters level or equivalent Holds
  • NMC registration
