Job summary

Join our small, dedicated team at Nobles Hospital on the Isle of Man as a Consultant Gastroenterologist, where youll help shape and expand our Gastroenterology service. Youll work alongside another Consultant, a Specialty Doctor, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (with an interest in IBD), and a Hepatology Nurse who runs a Fibroscan service and clinic. As the current Consultant has a subspecialty interest in hepatobiliary disease, applications are welcome from Consultants with experience in managing an IBD service.

Main duties of the job

In this varied role, you will spend the majority of your DCC time delivering out-patient services and endoscopy and also offer consults on inpatients under the care of the general physicians and elderly care physicians, participating in either the GI bleeding or General Medicine on-call rota and supporting the delivery of a more responsive retrieval support. Nobles Hospital offers a modern endoscopy unit with services for gastrointestinal, urological and respiratory investigations with endoscopes. Our high-quality facilities include three procedure rooms, single sex recovery bays, decontamination facilities, and a dedicated patient reception and waiting area. The hospital is currently exploring the potential to take part in the Merseyside & Cheshire Cancer Alliance Capsule Endoscopy Network programme to improve the effectiveness of the delivery of capsule endoscopies and the reading of their results.
