Job summary
Eager to shape the future of patient care while working in a spectacular setting? As a Consultant Ophthalmologist on the picturesque Isle of Man, you'll take the lead in delivering exceptional medical retina treatments, tackling conditions such as Age-Related Macular Degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. A large part of this role will be to reduce the number of patients travelling to the UK for the management of medical retina disease and provide this care locally for the Islands residents. With an energetic team by your side, you'll also drive the development of a community diabetic eye screening service, making a lasting difference across the Island. In addition, you will need to deal with a wide range of general ophthalmology and ophthalmic surgical cases assessing what can be dealt with locally on Island (without individual doctors necessarily having to undertake surgical interventions) and make decisions on when to transfer patients to specialised centres in the UK for treatment.
Main duties of the job
The ability to undertake Paediatric Screening for Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP), in addition to medical retina work would be advantageous. Step into a forward-thinking health system dedicated to improving lives through compassionate and innovative care. Supported by skilled colleagues and cutting-edge resources, you'll thrive both professionally and personally while enjoying the unique lifestyle this stunning Island offers. Apply now to start a truly rewarding chapter in your career!
