Job summary

We are looking for a Deputy Manager to lead a team of dedicated multidisciplinary professionals within the Community Mental Health Service for Adults (CMHSA). Working closely with the Operational Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery and management of mental health services, ensuring high quality care, overseeing daily operations and leading a team of dedicated multidisciplinary professionals. Youll also ensure that people have timely access to our services and receive treatment in line with our pathways.

Main duties of the job

You will need to have excellent relationship building and engagement skills and be capable of managing varied work demands based on the changing needs of the service.You'll be part of a supportive and collaborative work environment with professional development opportunities. Although the main duties of the role are to ensure the operational effectiveness of the team, you will still have the opportunity to involve yourself in direct clinical work, in line with the needs of the service. Youwill have a direct impact on the future of the Island's community based mental health care, operating within a recovery focused organisation to support its future development into the future.

  • Registered Mental Health Professional appropriate to the job
  • role (Nursing, Social Worker, OT)
  • Completion of Practice Teaching Award/Mentorship/ Preceptorship Course/ENB equivalent, or intention to complete
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Valid registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council, Social Work England Health Care Professionals Council or equivalent
  • Evidence of continuing professional development to Degree level
  • Can demonstrate Masters Degree level thinking, knowledge, skills and experience in relation to both mental health and management skills
  • Willingness to complete a Masters Degree
  • Relevant post registration experience in mental health care specific to acute mental health for adults with severe and enduring mental illness
  • Experience or training in Management or a willingness to
  • undertake at the appropriate level
