Main duties of the job

The role of the Head of Communications and Engagement is key in developing close, collaborative relationships across a wide range of stakeholders to ensure the Manx Care voice is heard, understood and respected. As well as proactive engagement and relationship development, the Head of Communications and Engagement will also be responsible for overseeing the operational delivery of all communications activity. This is a very varied and fast-paced role, and we are therefore seeking an individual who is proactive and able to react quickly and calmly to rapidly evolving situations, particularly at a strategic level. You must be able to provide balanced and insightful advice to the CEO and wider leadership teams. Alongside this, you will be required to evidence an ability to communicate effectively through both formal and informal channels and be able to manage your own time to meet deadlines as required. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to forge strong relationships at the highest levels and to foster open and constructive dialogue - often between parties with widely divergent views. You must also be able to demonstrate the ability to persuade and influence opinion to drive co-operation and decision making.
