We are seeking a knowledgeable, driven and forward-thinking Specialist Biomedical Scientist (Biochemistry) to join our dedicated and supportive team in the Pathology Department at Noble’s Hospital on the beautiful Isle of Man!

About the role and our team
This is an interesting and varied role based in a district general hospital laboratory setting, however we also perform a range of specialist investigations due to our Island location. Our department is equipped with Roche Cobas Pro system with ISE, c503 & e801 analysers; the first in the British Isles. We also use pre-analytical p471 & p612 to perform our workload of approximately 900 samples per day.

As a Band 6 Specialist Biomedical Scientist in Biochemistry you will routinely perform in-depth investigations of clinical samples. You will be responsible for undertaking a complex range of interpretive analysis using knowledge, experience, and specialised equipment.
You will have the opportunity to participate in the voluntary multidisciplinary on call rota, following suitable training and assessment, for which extra remuneration will apply and there is also a seven day working rota system for weekend working which attracts a pay enhancement.
This role requires a high level of theoretical and practical knowledge in all aspects of Biochemistry and in order to be considered, you must be HCPC registered and have, or be working towards an IBMS Specialist Diploma in Biochemistry or equivalent.

A relocation package of up to £7,000 based on receipts is available for this role. Housing Assistance is also available where the Department will pay the difference between your current mortgage/rent bill, and that of your new accommodation on the Isle of Man, up to a maximum of £250 per month. This role also qualifies for a recruitment incentive of £3,000, payable in the 1st, 13th, and 25th months of employment.
