About the role and our team

We are seeking a qualified, experienced and motivated Clinical Scientist/Clinical Physiologist to join our Cardiorespiratory Team within Manx Care on the Isle of Man!

This is a great opportunity for a dynamic and forward-thinking healthcare scientist with a specialist interest in cardiac ultrasound to further develop their career supporting the cardiac physiology services on the Island. 

As a member of the Cardiorespiratory Team, you will be responsible to the Cardiorespiratory Manager, but will also work closely with other highly specialist clinical physiologists to deliver and develop a patient-focused, cost-effective and high quality service to the island population.

The post is offered at Band 7 for those holding professional registration as a Clinical Scientist or Clinical Physiologist and current British Society of Echocardiography Adult Accreditation or equivalent. We can offer support to those expecting to achieve this within 6 months of commencement in post in the form of a transitional Band 6 role. We welcome applications from graduates of the Healthcare Scientist Training Programme.

You will be responsible for providing an efficient and accurate, quality assured diagnostic imaging service to all users; ensuring relevant competencies are achieved to meet service requirements and turnaround times.

About the Island and relocating

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

• BSc (Hons) Clinical Physiology/Healthcare Science, MSc Cardiac Science or equivalent formal specialist training, plus knowledge of specialist procedures acquired through specialist courses or training/experience to Masters Level equivalent.
• RCCP/AHCS/HCPC registration or eligibility for.
• Demonstrable in depth knowledge, training and qualification in highly specialist area to enable independent clinical interpretation and reporting and to maintain patient safety, (e.g. BSE Accreditation or equivalent for those undertaking echo, IBRHR/BHRS certification or equivalent for CRM roles).
• Immediate Life Support Certified (ILS).
• Recognised teaching and assessing qualification or willing
• to work towards.
