Job summary

Main duties of the job

To undertake Initial Enquiries and Adult Safeguarding Investigations. To support the screening of referrals, offering specialist advise in relation to this area. To undertake full risk assessments and risk analysis. To ensure ongoing risk assessments are completed, taking into account the developments occurring in Service Users lives. Completing the Adult Safeguarding Investigation Report for all cases that progress to Initial Enquiry. To support and contribute to the Large Scale Inquiry (LSI) process in relation to care organisations. To support and contribute to cases which meet the threshold for the Complex Abuse Policy to be put into place. To plan and coordinate Case Conferences throughout the Service Users journey within Adult Safeguarding. To support Service Users and families to understand the process of Adult Safeguarding, ensuring they are well informed and kept up to date with any developments. To challenge poor practice, engage in difficult and challenging conversations with a range of individuals and professionals. To work within the Human Rights Act and challenge services and/or practice that do not work within this Legislation. To have a full understanding on Mental Capacity, Deprivation of Liberty, Liberty Safeguards and Best Interests Decision Making. To provide specialist Adult Safeguarding knowledge and display a commitment to protect Adults at Risk of harm.

You will provide a rapid response to Adult Safeguarding referrals, undertake risk assessments and risk analysis, and create and implement Adult Safeguarding Protection Plans and work within the 6 Safeguarding Principles. Incorporated into every aspect of your role will be the Making Safeguarding Personal principles (MSP) to ensure Service Users are at the forefront of decision making.

You’ll be joining our small, specialist team who undertake all duties in relation to Adult Safeguarding. We work alongside adults to ensure they are central to our work, upholding the ethos of Making Safeguarding Personal.
