Job summary

The States of Guernsey are looking for a Emergency Department Manager to join the team based at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital.

Main duties of the job

The Emergency Department Manager will be expected to manage a 9 bedded department that treats all emergency attendances across the Bailiwick of Guernsey.

The department comprises of 5 majors bays, 1 Paediatric Bay, 2 Resuscitation Bays, Eye room, single room and triage room.

All patients are assessed and cared for by a team of ANPs, Consultant and Associate ED Doctors and nurses that treat approximately 25,000 patients a year.

The department manages the care and wellbeing needs of all adults and children.

The Emergency Department Manager will be responsible for providing advance life support providers for both adult and paediatric patients as part of the Hospital Cardiac Arrest team.

The Emergency Department Manager will also act as the Duty Manager as part of the senior nursing team to provide guidance and support to CSCs out of hours.

The Emergency Department Manager will manage the Hyperbaric Chamber as part of the Emergency Department ensuring delivery of service when required.
